Represent Above 2000

These are some of the people I /really/ appreciate who were really representing in the 2000-2010 decade. I didn't put full bands, but some of the one people represent for the band as well.

Cee Lo Green is representing for himself and Gnarles Barkley. Great music. Remember the song Crazy? Loved that song. And he's just such a good musician in general.

Amy Lee represents for Evanescence. Her singing voice is eerie and beautiful, plus she makes great music as well. I know a lot of people who hate on Amy, but I appreciate that she sings the way she does.

Beyonce represents for herself [and Destiny's Child] and she's up here because she's worked on her voice very much. She's learned Egyptian scales and those are some of the toughest; maybe even the toughest. Plus, she uses legit orchestras and not loops (like how everyone does now on the mainstream channel) and we KNOW that's her voice. I'm sure she doesn't use auto-tune.

Andre 3000 represents for Outkast. WHAT A GROUP. The lyrics and subject matter of Stankonia (the entire album!) are just wonderful! Andre isn't just a lyrical genius either [and those are hard to find nowadays], but music is also good. I can tell the difference between actual drums and a drum machine, and I'm sure they were using actual drums. And they know how to use keyboards. Go Outkast.

Thom Yorke represents for Radiohead. God, listening to them when you're sad is a TERRIBLE idea. They're so powerful that they drive you into a deeper depression! Radiohead is a magnificent band though. Lyrically, and musically. I'd say they're the numb feeling you get from prescription drugs. I never thought I could put that feeling to a band, but hell, they fit that ticket mighty fine. Plus, according to Rolling Stone, Kid A is the best album of the 2000s era.

Jack White represents for the White Stripes. The only band making rock n' roll music, I swear! All the other "rocks" are metal, alternative or indie, and the White Stripes are rock n' roll's only [known to me] life support! Meg is brilliant, of course and Jack... I watched a special of him playing guitar with Jimmy Page. He earned that privilege, by far. The album Elephant is GREAT too! I appreciate the White Stripes very much.

Adele represents for herself. Great voice. She has a great voice and is actually using instruments. By this day and age, you wouldn't think it'd be so hard to learn a damn instrument! She's still getting the hang of her guitar, yes, but that voice! We know that she can actually sing! I want to blame her musical talent on her 'british' but she's just a good girl who knows how to write a couple of hits and play a tune. I've heard great reviews about 21. Plus she won every grammy. That's because she DESERVED THEM.

Chris Martin represents for Coldplay. I have no clue what their genre is. I have no idea whatsoever, but that's a great thing: if they're the ones to create yet ANOTHER genre of music, they will be legends (they already sort of art because of their unique sound already!). All of their music's very relaxing. Listen to [all of] A Rush of Blood to the Head. I love this album. Great album. Oh, and apparently every hipster is known to own X&Y. Just a piece of information I came across.

Alicia Keys, my goodness. She was a piano prodigy at age 5 and look at her now! She's gorgeous [without being slutty] and she can REALLY sing! And her piano skills never cease to amaze anyone! She owns that one song from 2010 that we can still listen to [Unthinkable]! And you know that all of 2010's music is REALLY annoying since they played it OVER AND OVER AGAIN. She's not played ENOUGH on the radio, I think. She's just a wonderful musician though.
